The choices we make

As media starts to force its way into choice-based entertainment, me, as someone who’s approaching his mid-twenties, has taken a lot of time to reflect on the choices I’ve made. In reality, everything we do is a choice, and I feel as though those choices lead us down specific paths. The world is a winding road of choices, and we follow the path our choices lead us down. These choices lead us to various destinations, and on that road, we meet different people. We fall in love, our hearts break, we cry and we laugh.

In 2018, I made a choice for myself that kind of snowballed me all around. The choice I made was weight loss surgery, and that one decision has opened a variety of doors for myself that 2018 me would never have dreamed of. I’ve met some very interesting people, done incredible things, and experienced so many delightful circumstances once I felt comfortable enough to step out of my shell and take life by the literal horns.

Maybe we’ve all made poor decisions, wasted time with individuals we shouldn’t of, done things we knew were bad or weren’t proud of—but in the moment, we couldn’t help but to indulge. Our choices define us, the good, the bad, the ugly, and they build character. So, what I’m asking you to do is, is to take the chance. Make those difficult choices; step out of your comfort zone. In the end, the journey is entirely worth it
