All Bodies are Cool for the Summer

Many of us look forward to the hot summer days. Now that summer is finally approaching we might be planning what to do to get the most out of it. However, there are a few things we should remember not to do.
First, avoid pointing out details on other people’s bodies, which include scars, acne, weight changes, etc. Unsolicited comments about one’s body can be severely damaging. All bodies are different and unique in their own ways, and it is important to remember that these differences do not play a role in how much respect a person’s body deserves.
Second, do not criticize or diminish other people for their clothing choices. Whether you think a person’s clothing is too much or too little, remember that clothing can mean many different things to different people. Clothing can be a way of self-expression by representing someone’s background, beliefs, or identity. Everyone should get to express themselves freely this summer.
Lastly, do not compare yourself to others and focus on your well-being. In the summer, when everyone seems to be extra happy and confident, it might be easy to feel like your confidence is not at the same level as everybody else’s. Prioritize your mental health this summer by remembering that we all have flaws, weaknesses, and strengths, and the best part is that they are all different. So, enjoy the weather and the people, and don’t forget to have fun.
