An Artist's View of the Pandemic
In 2018, I released my first full-length album, Not So Flawless. Afterward, I was concerned that I wouldn’t have anything else to write about. All I can say is I was dead wrong.
I had the craziest year and a half of my life, filled with high highs and the lowest of lows. Between transferring schools and immersing myself in the dating scene for the first time, I had a myriad of things to write about. Then the pandemic hit. And to be honest, it was a blessing for an independent artist because I had all the time in the world to work on new music. I spent much of the pandemic writing, but I didn’t start trying to push out this latest release until winter break started.
Some of the songs were relatively new, but some were written years prior. Revisiting them brought me back to when they were written and reawakened the feelings I had at that time. Between the emotional exhaustion and having to be the engineer as well as the performer, I was having quite a stressful time.
However, these songs are some of my favorite songs I have ever written. I am incredibly proud of the work I’ve done, and I can’t wait for people to hear it. Wild & Free by Ethan Alosky is now available on all music streaming platforms!
