I love to play video games and this is mainly because they are fun for me and people that like them. They have become increasingly popular on the competitive side. For example, there are people on YouTube, Twitch, and even TikTok that stream video games daily and make money off of content.
A very popular competitive Fortnite player is Clix, and another popular streamer is Ninja. Fortnite is a very popular battle royale based game that many people play daily. The game has a ranked mode which is where you can test out your skills against other people that play competitively.
If you're thinking of getting into this or want to learn, schools are offering training, classes, and scholarships to go and learn how to play video games like Fortnite. This will prepare you for tournaments and how to start a career in playing video games successfully. There is one school I know of that offers this opportunity and that is Full Sail University. Another benefit of joining the gaming community is meeting and collaborating with new people over a game or just in general over something you like.
Now, there is also a risk with this type of career. For example, if it does not work out, you are losing tournaments, or you are not getting enough followers to make money to support yourself. So it’s important to have a backup plan or job and understand that it may not work as a career. It all comes down to doing what you like and what you think will be most successful.
