With the weather improving, there is no better time to get some fresh air and exercise. Summer is coming up quickly and we see an increase in students going for walks, hikes, swims, and other fitness activities.
Sports in general are a great tool to get in shape and have a fun time while doing it. Recently, I have joined a Pro Volleyball team called the SVC Vipers. We play in the Volleyball League of America (VLA). It has been a blast to play against amazing competition.
The VLA league has a point system, tier three, the lowest division; tier two, and then tier one, the highest division. The Vipers are a first-year pro team currently in the third-tier division. But, we have an opportunity this year to grow playing against skilled opponents in all of the categories. We have five points, and with an additional twelve, we will move to tier two.
The team is mostly made up of players from Lehigh Valley, York, and Berks County. Currently, our team’s ages range from nineteen to thirty-seven. Although it seems like a large margin our average age is twenty-two compared to the average in the VLA being twenty-seven.
I used to believe that I would never get the opportunity play volleyball at this high of a level, but here I am able to enjoy every moment doing what I love!
