How To Eat Ice Cream Every Day

Emma Saylor | Writer

If you are anything like me, you enjoy every aspect of food, whether it comes from a fast food establishment, your grandma’s kitchen, or even from a grill. But as we get older, and the health aspects of what we eat become a larger role in our lives, this ability to get away with unhealthy eating seems to vanish.

Three years ago when a relative of mine, who has the ability to eat whatever he wants without gaining or losing weight, started declining in his health, it made me realize just how important it is to eat healthy for more than just a desired figure. I tried everything; I went vegan, I went vegetarian, I stopped eating gluten and dairy, I tried CrossFit, I did everything under the sun in order to figure out what worked best for me.

It took me a long time to see what worked, but after a lot of trial and error (and a lot more patience), I realized that eating intuitively was the key. I make sure that I get a balanced meal 3 times a day, allowing me to enjoy my body's cravings without feeling guilt. Eating ice cream for dessert without feeling like I need to do 30 burpees is the best feeling in the world.

It is scary at first when thinking about making such a lifestyle change, but in the end it will not only save you money, make you happier, and reduce mood swings, but also give your body the much needed fuel that allows for continuous success.
