LV Wicked Plant Festival Returns to SteelStacks

Francesca Di Fiore | Writer

This fall’s edition of the Lehigh Valley Wicked Plant Festival attracted botany enthusiasts to SteelStacks in Bethlehem on Sunday, September 18. People of all ages enjoyed live music and acrobatic entertainment while browsing many different botanical, herbal, and craft vendors. Attendees enjoyed entertainment and learned about the important steps in taking good care of their new or already-owned houseplants and garden plants.

SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA is known for hosting Musikfest, along with live concerts and festivals of all sorts, thanks to ArtsQuest. Because the spring edition of the Lehigh Valley Wicked Plant Festival was deemed successful, this fall’s turnout was expected to be even greater.

Plant-related vendors were more than happy to showcase their plants, as well as fertilizers, hanging decorations, and other supplies. Other vendors showcased homemade products including organic tea leaves, jewelry, and Halloween décor.

According to Dawn Ash, co-owner of the ‘The Wicked Botanist’ plant nursery in Bethlehem, the festival was originally created to promote the shop while bringing something new and inviting into the Lehigh Valley area. Ash said that fall’s edition of the festival was four times more successful than last year’s, and is expected to bring even more people in for years of plant festivals to come.

Promotion for the festival’s spring edition in 2023 is already in the works. Keep an eye out for the next botanical experience!
