Looking forward to taking the next phase in your academic career? LCCC is excited to host its highly anticipated annual Transfer Fair on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CSC Building on the main campus.

This event, which is open to current students, graduates, and the general public, provides an excellent opportunity to meet face-to-face with officials from leading four-year colleges and universities, thereby unlocking future possibilities.

"It's a great chance for students to meet admissions officers face-to-face and make personal connections that could help them during the transfer process," said Fauzie Graham, event organizer and assistant professor at LCCC.

Additionally, LCCC is hosting a smaller event on October 8 with ten colleges providing bachelor's degree programs. This event, which builds on existing ties with local institutions, aims to provide students with far more specific guidance. Many students refrain from making transfer selections because they are unaware of all available possibilities, and these events provide them with the information they need to make educated choices.

"We frequently find kids waiting until the last minute because they are unfamiliar with all of the universities and the transfer process,” Graham said. “These fairs provide valuable exposure and assist students in determining their future steps.”

During the event, students will be able to ask anything about financial aid or the transfer process. Representatives from participating universities will also help students with course selection.

"I always remind students that continuing their education is vital, and events like these make the transfer process easier," said Graham.

Despite the event's accomplishments, the most serious challenge remains student attendance.

"Getting the word out to students is tough, but participation is necessary to help them make informed decisions about their futures,” Graham said.

The LCCC Transfer Fair will help students looking to further their educational journey, providing an easy and engaging method to meet with universities and learn about their possibilities.
