Students Navigate the Career Development Center

It’s no secret that students at LCCC face challenges when balancing work and college responsibilities. These struggles can be attributed to financial hardship, mental health concerns, transportation challenges, and so much more. Although not every LCCC student faces these challenges, most must learn to balance the expectations of their careers’ and academic studies.
This is where LCCC’s Career Development Center plays an integral role.
“The Career Development Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday,” said Frederick Damon, Career Specialist. “Walk-In service is available for quick fifteen minute guidance, while appointments are encouraged for more involved support.”
The Career Development Center offers services to guide students in pursuing their occupational aspirations relating to academia and career. The center provides career exploration, self-assessment resources, Cougar CLAW job board, job search planning, resume development support, practice interviews, job fairs, and more.
“We also can connect students to resources such as the Perfect Fit via a referral,” said Kescha Bell-Ross, Director of Career Development and Civic Engagement. “A student can receive professional attire to help them prepare for an interview or a successful career.”
This is just one of the many ways LCCC strives to set students up to thrive in the future.
“Success can be attained at many levels, and the personalized support from the career development staff can make a significant difference,” said Damon.
The Career Development Center is located in the lower level of the Student Services Center. Students can contact them at 610-799-1090 or CareerServices@lccc.edu.
