The Double Life of a College Student Worker
Adam R. Bachert | Writer

It is no secret that a typical college student faces responsibility, whether that is the conventional get up, go to class or get up, go to work. I am one of few who experience situations like that, I call it the double life. Why? Well, when I am not working, I appear as a student that assimilates with the crowd. When I am working, I represent LCCC, where I approach students in an adequately fitting way to assist with their necessity. I handle it very well, but at times when there is a test or an essay, I know it would slip through the cracks. However, from semester to semester, the ability to do assignments on the clock made adjusting much more manageable.
There is a small number of students with a double life at LCCC (considering it’s a community college), but others do experience it all over, trade schools, two-year colleges, and four year universities. The double life is a task to implement, but it prepares you for your future.
