About a week ago, I applied to Penn State Lehigh Valley as a transfer student for the Fall 2022 semester. I cannot believe that this is my last semester here at Lehigh Carbon Community College. My two years here have flown by, and I feel like I am ready but also sad about leaving. I am excited to continue on with my future, but I really enjoyed my time here at LCCC. I feel like I have grown a lot over the past two years here.
Looking back, I am happy I chose to attend community college from the start. I always knew that I wanted to start at LCCC, and with the pandemic hitting around the time I was starting college, it just made even more sense to start at a community college. So many people may look down on community college, but I can say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am getting the same education just at a much cheaper price and closer to home. I feel like LCCC has prepared me for the next step and whatever may be around the corner. I am ready to continue my education at the next level.
To any high school students who feel like a four-year university is the only option, it is not. Starting at a community college is completely acceptable, and I personally feel like it is worth it overall. Life after high school can become expensive; do not let yourself overpay for the same education that you can get for half the price.
