Three Ways to Save Gas

Kenneth Wallace | Writer

Gas prices have increased dramatically over the past few months, with people paying more money per gallon. Gas prices are the main concern for citizens across the world. There are, however, many ways to conserve fuel.

1. Use another form of transportation: There are many other forms of transportation. Walking and riding a bike can help save cash and it is also good exercise. Leaving your car in the driveway is an effective way to save gas. Next time, try walking or biking for a small errand.

2. Accelerate/Brake slowly: Braking quickly and accelerating quickly can waste gas. When the light turns green, do not hit the gas right away. Instead, lift your foot off the brake and let your car coast, and then hit the gas. Going from 0 to 40 miles per hour is going to use up plenty of fuel.

3. Use less brake: Slamming your brakes is just not using more fuel, it also damages them. Let's say a stoplight is approaching and it’s yellow. Instead of slamming on your brakes at the last minute, it would be best to let off the gas and slow down until you get to the stopped point. This is beneficial because you’re more likely to reach the stoplight when it turns green.

Many people are not happy about the increase in gas prices and hope that the prices will go down. However, hopefully, these tips are helpful for you.
