In a few months, I will be transferring from Lehigh Carbon Community College to Lock Haven University to study graphic design, but that wasn’t always my plan. I originally wanted to major in interior design and make that my career. Growing up I used apps like RoomSketcher, Planner 5D, and Home Design 3D to play around with interior design. I even took a class in high school and loved it.

When the Covid-19 pandemic started, my plans for college changed, and I started attending LCCC as a General Education major. My desire to continue with interior design fell short, and I was left wondering what to do. After almost a year, I realized I had already been doing what I loved: graphic design. I’ve been working as a freelance graphic designer since I was 15, and it’s always been something I enjoyed. The apps I use for my work now: Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign are different than what I used for interior design.

I started taking classes here at LCCC to help further my knowledge of Graphic Design. I can’t wait to continue my education and learn skills that I will use for my career in the future. I will be making a career out of something I have learned that I love to do.
